A new 4-week lunar cycle begins with the New Moon in Cancer, ruled by the nurturing Moon. Cancer is the sign of family, home, security, feelings, and our need for belonging. This lunar cycle can be used to work with this energy – to listen to your intuition, to reach out to others to offer and/or ask for nurturing, and connect with home and family; or to support yourself when you're overwhelmed. Venus square Uranus

Under this transit, you may be tempted by impulse spending, or you might be somewhat erratic in your use of resources. This can result in unpredictable or unstable finances, so double check your bank accounts and credit cards before you draw on them. It is also a time when the way you relate to others (or they to you) could be somewhat inconsistent, fickle or impulsive. If your relationships or financial situation have been struggling with difficulties for a while, this transit could bring a lingering problem to the surface and require attention. On one hand, this could be a welcome breath of fresh air that cuts through the complexity of your problems and puts the cards on the table (despite the stress and conflict that likely triggered it). Or, you might feel resistance to making these changes and instead experience this as a time of unwelcome instability, upset and adjustment. However, this may be a good way to break free of excessive restraint, control or structure, which allows new possibilities to emerge that couldn't do so otherwise.

Sun conjunct Mercury

During this transit, your sense of self and purpose can become merged with what you think, perceive and say. On one hand, this can make for an easy flow of ideas and communication from inside your brain to the external world. It can also increase your perceptions and observations of the world, as you file it all away in your internal database. On the other hand, you may find yourself a bit tongue-tied, as it could be hard to separate your sense of self from your perceptions and ideas enough to find the words to adequately express them. In that case, just observe and go with the flow; the words will come later. It can also be a time when it's not easy to be objective, especially about yourself and how you bring yourself to the world around you. It's like your Being automatically expresses and sets into motion the things you think, perceive and want to say. This can help you to feel like your sense of self is shining effortlessly, but if your thoughts and perceptions are in conflict with other parts of you (e. g. , emotions, needs, objectivity) then it might become a time when you act a little too quickly with blinders on. Strive for balance and self-honesty before you act.

The peak of Mercury conjunct the Sun is when it is Cazimi, which means being exact within 1 degree of arc (or some use 17 minutes of arc). For the few hours that this takes place, a Cazimi planet is said to be very strong. In the case of Mercury, your perceptions, awareness, thoughts and ability to put your thoughts into words may be unusually clear, focused or direct – even more-so since this happens in Mercury's sign of Gemini. You are still cautioned that an extra sharp wit might still be used with negative consequences, intentionally or not.

Chiron sextile North Lunar Node

This transit only comes along about every 5 or 10 years, so it's quite rare. However, it isn't likely to be a major influence since sextile aspects (60°) can often go by without you even noticing. You need to listen carefully for this subtle energy. So:we have Chiron, the planet of healing, wounding, and struggling to solve problems that may not have a clear solution. The North Lunar Node is where you're heading in your life, like the bow of a ship. For up to 2 months before and after today, these two energies can be brought together in creative ways. It's a time when you may find there are opportunities to make better choices that can point your life in a healthier direction, literally and figuratively. It can be a time of healing or just becoming more aware of the aspects of your body, mind or life that are struggling, and inspire you to make adjustments accordingly. If you fine-tune your awareness to this background energy, you may find you can come to a place of acceptance for the troubles you have little control over, while identifying the actions you can take to make positive change in your life. You might even find you can turn your wounds and difficulties into advantages through an innovative or creative attitude.

This is a good time to let go of the "things" you don't need anymore. It's a time to release your creativity and transform them into new resources and assets. This could mean cleaning out your closets and selling the discards in a yard sale, for example. You might decide to change your hair style or something else about your appearance. Perhaps you discover that you're making a different impression on people than you intended, and this leads to a revision of your social skills. Moon goes Out of Bounds

The Moon is Out-of-Bounds (OOB) by declination from Jul. 10 (22 TA 55) to Jul. 14, 2026 (27 CN 23).

During this time, your feelings and emotions may move in a different kind of rhythm. One possible effect is that you might feel more disconnected from the world around you; perhaps a bit alone, lonely or isolated. Or, this could be a welcome change where you can let the stresses of the world roll off your back more easily. Or, your emotions could be a bit erratic, extreme or harder to contain. The common thread through these diverse experiences is that your feeling state may reach beyond your usual range of feelings. If you're an artist, musician, writer or other creative person, this can be a very inspiring time as your creativity and imagination could more easily flow into unusual ideas, whims and impulses. Watch to see how you respond during this time. You can work on finding ways to channel this energy into positive, productive, creative experiences, or use it as an opportunity to take another step in your emotional healing.

Healing and rebalancing are possible now, especially in the areas of relationships, finance, resources and values. Any problems that have persisted in these areas lately could benefit from an influx of helpful and healing resources now. Relationships and interactions of all kinds can benefit now, since it can be easier to see the beauty and value in others whom you might usually dislike or feel ill at ease with (or they with you). Negotiations and strategic efforts to resolve conflicts may go smoothly now, especially when you balance the results in everyone's interests. Under this transit, it is possible to fall in love with purity, precision and analysis. It is a time to invest in health, efficiency, and your contribution to the world around you. The beauty is in the details, as you embrace a labour of love in your life. Just don't get so enamoured with pristine splendour that you get lost in perfectionism and unable to accept the natural imperfection that exists in all life and humanity. Each of us is the Universe's perfect child, but we are also in a state of becoming and growing and are therefore likely to make human mistakes. Moon comes In-Bounds

The Moon now comes back In-Bounds (InB) by declination after being Out-of-Bounds from Jun. 26 (23 SC 14) to Jul. 1, 2026 (27 CP 24).

While the Moon was Out of Bounds (OOB) your emotional state may have been a bit disconnected, detached, isolated, or pushing you to go beyond your usual potential. This could have been either a welcome change or a difficult energy for you to deal with. So, when the Moon comes In-Bounds, you typically return to whatever your "normal" is. If your OOB journey was stressful or intense, you may find some relief now that the Moon is back In-B, or you're now in a position to integrate what you've learned from your experience. If your OOB journey felt like a welcome reprieve from the everyday stress or "noise" of the world around you, coming back In-B will hopefully give you a fresh start, like coming back from a brief vacation. The Moon will go OOB next in about 10 days, give or take.

Jupiter enters Leo

Jupiter makes a grand entrance into Leo! He bestows on us both the best and the worst of Leo. On the plus side, Leo's creativity can grow and blossom like a big bold flower. Leo's sunny disposition and Jupiter's penchant for optimism can practically blind you with brilliant cheerfulness. The generosity of both Jupiter and Leo combine into a kind of Santa Claus energy, taking great glee in bestowing feel-good energy on the world.

However, it can also amplify Leo's tendency for self-absorption and egotism. Jupiter loves to be right, and when combined with Leo, a challenge to this might be taken personally. A sense of superiority and grandiosity could sometimes cloud objectivity and empathy. Personal opinions may be asserted as absolute truth, perhaps with the best of intentions but lacking receptivity to others' ideas or experience. And people can usually stand only so much irrepressible optimism and upbeat confidence before they start looking around for the volume control to turn it down a few notches.

This transit might feel a bit frustrating... or stimulating! The impulse to make change or take action might seem to be taking you in the wrong direction (or maybe just a different one), rather than where you feel your life should be going. One possible reason is that your own anger, or how you deal with anger, is yanking you off course. For example, there might be something unfinished and irksome that you need to face; and if you only keep trying to ignore it, soothe it or rise above it, this might actually make it worse until you take an honest look at your deeper feelings. On the other hand, this transit might require that you take a "detour" in a different direction for a short time. It might seem inconvenient or like a waste of time at first, but you will likely find that you gain something from this that wouldn't have come to you on your usual path. This could also be a good time to examine your motives for moving your life in the direction it's going. Are you acting in alignment with your true passion, or are you mostly just going through the motions because you think you "should"? How are you empowering yourself to pursue your passion? Or, perhaps you need to take a break from trying to live your passion and take some time to check in with what your passion actually is, right now. Is it the same as it was when you set out in your current direction?

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN

This Full Moon in Capricorn marks the half-way turning point in the current 4-week lunar cycle. Ruled by teacher Saturn, this can be a time to make progress in manifesting a goal. It sometimes brings delays or complications that require you to work harder or smarter. Its energy can be demanding but also rewarding and strengthening. This Earth sign wants to establish something concrete and real. As a Cardinal sign, Capricorn is focused on a long-term destination requiring motivation, patience and persistence.

Mercury goes Retrograde

Yes, it's that time again! Mercury goes retrograde for the next 3+ weeks. For up to a week before and after today, Mercury is moving very slowly or stopped (hence "stationary" or "making a station"). During this time, you may experience intensity, frustration, confusion, miscommunications, or feel like you're getting bogging down in your progress.

Mercury retrograde is usually a time when it is a good time to rethink, rehash, reflect, and tie up old loose ends, rather than begin new ventures. It is typical for new insights and information to emerge later in the retrograde cycle that you didn't anticipate, which can change the whole picture. Because of this, it is usually advised to avoid making final or permanent decisions (e. g. , signing contracts or putting new projects into action), during the retrograde and even up to 2 weeks after Mercury goes direct. However, it is an excellent time to do fact-finding, research and investigation to prepare for major decisions, which are usually best put off until well after Mercury goes direct.

In the meantime, while Mercury is retrograde, expect the unexpected, and leave lots of extra time when planning your schedule (to minimize any disruptions from delays and complications). Stay flexible and learn to roll with the weirdness. It's common to have to reschedule appointments or redo things because the instructions or information got messed up the first time. Do some things that use your intuitive, creative, non-rational mind for a while until Mercury goes direct again.

If you absolutely must do something important during this time that can't be postponed, don't be surprised if you wind up having to redo things. It can help to be especially vigilant about triple-checking what you do, but some of these mishaps can't always be predicted or prevented, so don't be hard on yourself (nor on others). Remember: Mercury loves to play practical jokes. This is his playtime. ;-) It helps to learn to laugh with him.
